Hi All!
Figured I'd tell the whole story here about my lovies. My husband is a locksmith and one day he got a call to rekey a pet shop as they were evicting them. Turns out they were 15,000!! in the hole

Now my husband and I are pet lovers...hence our zoo....so when he saw a pair of bonded lovebirds and a hedgehog he just couldn't help himself. I came home from my craft class to see that our flock had expanded by two as he took them as payment. Little shocked. Did lots of research.
As they are bonded I was afraid we would end up with eggs but was hopeful!! They argue!! A LOT!! Well at least she nitters at him and he barks back at her so we thought Archie and Edith was a name that fit particularly well. Then one day I notice a little bit of action going on in the cage. DH tried to convince me that the chances of them having eggs was slim!! He just makes stuff up as he goes along. I noticed the rope from their one toy disappearing and realized it was going to good use as a nest. Oh brother. Couple days later we had 5 eggs!
I guess I should explain why I wasn't so thrilled to have eggs. See in January my DH went to rekey an apartment (do we see a trend here???) as the renters had skipped out and to his surprise they had taken all of their belongings except their pets.

He brought home the bunny but took the tarantula to a pet store (THANK GOD). I have a daycare and he figured the kids would looooove a bunny! And they did. For two days. And then said bunny multiplied. We had 6 little bunny wabbits. And raising them was a joy but finding good homes for them was a challenge! Thank goodness it happened around Easter or I'm convinced we still would have 7 bunnies. As it stands we still have one bunny and are still trying to find a good home for him but have sort of given up on it.
SO YEAH. MORE BABIES!! We waited and checked. And waited and checked. Then on Canada Day our first little egg hatched! Two days later the second! The other three are duds but we have two cute little lovies. Mama and Daddy are taking good care of them and we started handling them after about a week. We are letting the lovies care for them as we haven't the foggiest idea how to feed and don't want to take that on. But we make sure they know us and they are adorable! Both have their eyes open now. The eldest one is so much larger than the second and has recently gotten his first feathers in! I will post pictures soon but we don't have many as I didn't want to disturb Mama too much. Wasn't sure if we should handle them but after doing research I feel that this is the best choice. Any advice would be appreciated as this is our first time with this. Something tells me probably not our last either!
hugs,
Pam
oh ps my DH has been instructed NOT to bring home anymore pets!!! LOL
