Ok panic over.

Zoe called me on.... Friday I think.  Wonderful phone call.  We had a good laugh and she helped me decide where the cage should go.  Thank you Zoe!  hugs  Zoe offered to come down to London and help me put the new cage together but I wasn't sure when it was going to be delivered.

Well cage update - the whole shipment was rusty which means a loss of hundreds of thousands of $/£.  Last night I had decided anyway to get the larger but cheaper Montana cage:

http://www.24parrot.com/Castel-Play-Top-Parrot-Cage-%28Choice-of-2-Colours%29-P97001a/

Trouble is it is much wider than the Kings and therefore the perches I have are too small.  I emailed my neighbour/contractor begging if he had any spare tree prunings.

The supplier rang me first thing this morning to tell me about the fate of the shipment of Kings and that she would order the Montana for me.  I couldn't believe it when she said she would double check but it should be here tomorrow!!!!  Shocked  No sooner than I had put the phone down, the doorbell rang and it was my neighbour from up the road with 5 beautiful branches that I can cut down to use as perches.  I was stunned.... it's all coming together.  I think this new cage will be a better size for Ollie - had forgotten how big he is until a friend emailed me a pic of an OW Amazon with some BH Pi today:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e2/Arini_parrots_-two_species_-Tiputini-6a.jpg

So Liz... you can continue the countdown!!!  haha  4 days left....

So glad the panic is over and I agree that is a MUCH better cage. I love the BH/OWA pic!! And yes counting today there are only FOUR days left... but who counts today?

3 days left... after today! yes

Thanks everyone... yep I can see Liz that I am going to look back and laugh - hopefully as soon as next week!  Grin  I'm running out of room to store all these cages!!!  A replacement is arriving on Friday.  Really hope the delivery man isn't on his own again... that box is a dead weight... I can see how easy it would be to drop with just one man trying to get it out of the truck.  I even commented to him that I was surprised he was on his own (the Kings was delivered by two men)... he just mumbled something about cut backs.

I'm at work! Come to think of it, so will Fuzzy be. I'm actually passing through London on friday but I'll be on my way to Belgium so won't have time to stop in. Maybe on my way back on sunday...

Ok I'll call her tonight if she's not updated by then.

I'm sure Fuzz will be on soon and maybe she got buried under a bunch more cages that had problems... then having to send them back as well.  Hopefully Ollie is going to settle in nicely! I know Fuzz will be a great/fantastic new Mama!!

Haha, Bronson's angry face is more like an uber-cute face!!   mrgreen  She looks like she's posing for a photo shoot -- imagine photographer saying "ok, work with me, babe!  Fabulous!  You're angry, grrrr!  Beautiful, babe!  Now you're sexy, more sexy...."

I'm here!  Shocked  First of all huge apologies for keeping you all waiting!  Don't seem to be getting notifications again... bet they've all gone to my evil spam box!

Ollie arrived on Sunday and as soon as I saw him, all doubts I had about offering him a home disappeared.  He is lovely.  He is very shy/not tame but has so much potential.  He is making wonderful progress daily.  He warbles/makes a trilling sound.  It was barely audible to start with.  Mandy said he made no sound.  But I started imitating him back and it's got louder and more frequent.  Last night he got quite excited about it.  I feel we have made a connection through the vocalization.  From being terrified of me anywhere near him, he has got more trusting.  He will now come down to eat his breakfast almost immediately.  He will take items of food from me too.  He's also starting to explore the rest of his cage.  At first he stuck to the one java perch where his "blanket" is.  His blanket is his mirror with bell and is his favourite toy that he spent his 4 years in a cockatiel cage with.  But yesterday and today he spent quite a lot of time sitting on a cajeput perch away from it.  Then tonight I covered him up so as he could go to sleep.  I left a gap in the sheets as usual so he wouldn't panic.  I went to the kitchen to get a glass of orange juice and saw this little face peering out in the semi darkness.  I think it's a good sign that he's curious!  haha
